GG Rocks the Newport Metal
Masters
Graham's new live band hit the stage to
a rapturous welcome at the Newport Hotel on Sunday June 24th as they
headlined the SLAM Metal Masters. An enthusiastic Fremantle crowd
braved the elements to witness the first live performance since the December
2005 launch of the Ormsby GG Signature guitars.
New to the band was young (19) drummer Tom Ions, who played beyond
his years as he powered the rest of the band - Graham, guitarist Saxon
Smith and bassist Jim Awram - through a rocking 35-minute set of
7 tracks from Leap Of Face and 2002's Club Voodoo.
Included from the earlier release were crowd favourites Vinnie's Pink
Guitar and Dinosaur Bones, the latter segueing into an impromptu
jam between Graham, Saxon and Tom as Jim changed a broken string. The band
effortlessly swung straight into Raven's Eye Pt.1 before ending the
set with the singing harmony lead guitars of Off The Deep End. An
unexpected but thoroughly deserved encore found Graham playing the title
track from Leap Of Face, finishing off an excellent return to live performance
for Graham Greene and The Happy Sinners.

Photos from the SLAM Metal Masters gig can be
found in a new gallery in the Photos & Art page of Graham's website,
and also on his MySpace page (see address below). Also on MySpace is
the voice of the Happy Sinners, Donna Greene. Visit
her page
